Car #3 Driver Reveal

Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport today announced the driver for the #3 VF Holden Commodore at this weekend’s Coates Hire Ipswich SuperSprint at Queensland Raceway will be the highly experienced Alex Davison.

Davison has a vast history behind the wheel of a Supercar dating back to his debut in the championship at the Sandown 500 in 2004 with Perkins Engineering.

A former full-time driver in the championship with Perkins’ team (2004-2005), Stone Brothers Racing (2009-2011) and Charlie Schwerkolt’s CS Racing team (2013), Davison last competed in a Supercar at the Sydney 500 in 2015 in an Erebus Mercedes-Benz and has three podium finishes to his name in the championship, most recently at Phillip Island in 2013.

He’s also been a proven Pirtek Endurance Cup pilot for teams including Dick Johnson Racing (2006-2007, 2012), Paul Cruickshank Racing (2008) and Erebus (2014-2015), where he co-drove with younger brother Will.

The 37-year-old began his racing career in karts and moved through Formula Ford before a decorated career with Porsche competing in the Supercup, German Carrera Cup and Le Mans Series.

He won the 2004 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia title and has been runner-up in the all-Porsche series three times, including last year.

He is again competing in the Carrera Cup this season and sits third in the points with three podiums from the five rounds held so far in 2017, the most recent coming last weekend at Sepang in Malaysia.

Davison will get his first taste of the #3 LDM Commodore in practice this Friday at Queensland Raceway.
